I think that literature is a good fictional story which i can use my imagination and get my own picture of how the scene is supposed to look like; i like to be able to use my own imagination and get my own perception of something other then me being told what to think.
This is why i dont think of plays, media writings, films etc should be classed as literature.
I dont like to think of play writes as literature as i think they are supposed to be acted out and for you to be shown what the picture is like other then being able to make your own perception of a story. This is why i dont like classic literature writer William Shakespeare; i think his plays are meant to be acted out.

yes i agee with that literature is all about leaving things to the imagination, thats why books are good. Media writings, films and stuff is not literature either! thank you someone else who agrees with me!! x
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't drama literature? Surely it is more moving and has more messages than most novels.
ReplyDeleteI don't really agree with you, but I do get your point because I don't enjoy studying Shakespeare that much because I think it's better if his work is performed. However, when you look beyond the script and look at the actaul story that he's written - surely thats literature?
ReplyDeletePersonally I think that literature can be any type of writing as long as it makes people feel.
i think drama is still literature but in a lower form! i agree that plays should be acted out but the way it is put into a book is also challenging in its own respect. i would rather read the book than watch the play because it gives me my own interpretation of Shakespeare's work and not someone else's. it doesn't make the plays bad, it's just not as good a form of literature.
ReplyDeletei agree with you that literature is when they give good discription and make you use your imagination and i also agree about the plays not being literature its a script not a book and you don't get the same expierence or meaning from reading it as you would watching it shakespeare didn't write it to become a 'classic' litrature writer he wrote it to become a well known play director! :D
